| | PARK is the only Korean survivor! He has gone through two tough matches against Cuba's STEVENS and Mexico's SERRANO this afternoon.
The Korean qualified 1st for this year's World Cup Final, whereas the Ukrainian is the third qualifier for this Grand Final that will take place in Switzerland in September.
This gold medal match between the No. 3 RUBAN and the No. 4 PARK promises a fantastic battle!
The archers stay neck and neck. RUBAN leads by 1 point after three arrows, 29-28. But PARK takes back the lead thanks to an incredible second end where he shoots three 10s (58-56).
RUBAN comes back to 1 point, 85-86, in the third end with two 10s and a 9.
The last end is full of drama... At the penultimate arrow, PARK shoots a liner. This arrow is too close to the line to be sure if it is a 9 or an 8. If it is a 9, the score it tied... but if it is an 8, then RUBAN is the new Olympic champion!
After several unbearable seconds in which everyone in the stadium holds their breath, the decision comes... PARK's arrow is an 8 and RUBAN takes the Olympic gold! | |
